Whatcom Healthcare Alliance is a local community group dedicated to the health and well-being of all of Whatcom County's residents. Our work focuses on spreading awareness about Public Hospital Districts and what they do.
Why
Many of our neighbors struggle every day to access the healthcare services they need. Our county is lacking providers and resources to truly care for its residents. From nonexistent primary care options in East County, an overrun Emergency Room at the county hospital, to a lack of behavioral health services, no Whatcom resident is untouched by these issues. A Public Hospital District is a sustainable long-term investment in our county's well-being, an investment that our community controls and can continuously shape to serve our collective needs.
